Ray-Ban is an Italian/American brand of luxury sunglasses and  eyeglasses created in 1936 by the American company Bausch & Lomb.  The brand is known for its Wayfarer and Aviator lines of sunglasses.

Based in California, the company, since 1975, designs, develops and manufactures sports performance equipment and lifestyle pieces.

The company was started in 1913 by Mario Prada and his brother Martino as a leather goods shop, Fratelli Prada, in Milan, Italy. It has grown to become an international fashion house.
